"You Are My Sunshine"
Isaiah's name means God is salvation.
A mini Bible is this books scope.
Thirty-nine chapters warn of soon judgment,
Twenty-seven give comfort and hope.
He speaks to Judah, surrounding nations,
And we like sheep who have gone astray.
God in His mercy, planned His own anguish
To free from bondage and bring joy one day!

Isaiah’s name means God is salvation: What does “God is salvation” mean?
It means God is the One who Saves. God saves not only His chosen people, but His salvation is for people from every nation.
A mini Bible is this books scope: What does mini Bible and scope mean?
The next two lines help see how this book is like a mini or little Bible. Scope means all that the book talks about.
Thirty-nine chapters warn of soon judgment: How is this like a mini Bible?
Just like there are 39 Old Testament Books in the Bible preparing for the Savior, there are 39 chapters in Isaiah, warning the people of their need to turn back to God because judgment is coming.
Twenty-seven give comfort and hope: How is this like a mini Bible?
Just like there are 27 books in the New Testament that talk about the presence and provision of the Savior, there are 27 chapters in Isaiah that speak of the comfort and hope that God brings.
He speaks to Judah, (and the) surrounding nations: What is he telling them?
He is telling them of both judgment and hope that is coming.
And we like sheep who have gone astray: How are we like sheep?
All of us need a Savior because we are all like lost sheep, that have strayed away from the shepherd. We have all wandered far away from God. Isaiah tells us what God will do.
God in His mercy, planned His own anguish: What does this mean?
This is talking about God’s desire to save us, to bring us back to Himself by planning to send His own son to die for us. God the Father and God the Son planned this in advance, even though it would cause God so much pain and suffering to go through with this. God did because it would bring joy after it was all over.
To free from bondage and bring joy one day: What does bondage mean?
To be in bondage means to be held captive: For Israel it meant being held captive by surrounding nations. He allowed them to be taken captive to bring the nation back to God, and in His time He freed them from their captivity. All the suffering Jesus went through on the cross was to free us from being held captive by sin and bring joy in our lives.
Preparing: Sin brings God’s judgment to His chosen people Israel, but God is the One who saves them. Sin brings judgment to all of us, but through Israel God is planned to bring the Savior who would save people from every nation, all who will come to Him.
Pictures: Isaiah 53 speaks very clearly about the suffering the Savior will go through to pay for our sins and why. It is His punishment that brings us peace with God and heals our hearts from being turned away from God forever.
