Ecclesiastics asks, “What’s the meaning of Life?“: What is another way of asking that question?

What are we here on earth for? What is our purpose here?

Everything under the sun, is vanity and strife: What does that mean?

Everything on the earth that we do is meaningless. There is no purpose.

Why did he say there is no purpose to life?

He was trying to find purpose without God. Happiness and fulfillment is not found in what this world has to offer. Everything he tried left him feeling empty. We were not meant to live without a close relationship with God.

As you enjoy God’s gifts this is paramount: What gifts has God given that we are to enjoy?

Everything we are and have comes from God and we are to appreciate and enjoy life while we can.

What does paramount mean?

Paramount means the most important thing of all.

Fear God and obey HimAre we supposed to be afraid of God?

To fear God means be in awe of who He is: our all wise, all powerful, all perfect Creator who loves us. Because of Who He is our response should be to cherish and obey Him.

To Whom you’ll give accountWhat does give account mean?

Another reason to obey God is because we will each answer to Him for what we did with the life He gave us on earth.

Preparing: This is to teach the Jewish people through whom the Savior would come that nothing on earth satisfies our hearts. Looking to God is the only way to find ultimate satisfaction.

Pictures: The Savior Jesus is the One who satisfies our thirst for meaning, because He is God the Son and Who brings us to God the Father. He is called the Water of life that quenches this thirst. When talking with the woman at the well He said, “ but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14} In John 10:10 Jesus says, “ I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
